Rising crime and community safety concerns in Rowville and Scoresby
I moved a motion at the 25 August 2025 Knox Council meeting about the increasing crime and community safety concerns in Rowville, Scoresby, and throughout the City of Knox.
Residents are telling me they’ve had enough. Some no longer feel safe doing the things they’ve always done. Older residents feel more vulnerable in their own homes. Parents are worried about their kids getting home safely.

About
I live in Rowville and represent Tirhatuan Ward, which takes in Rowville and Scoresby, on Knox City Council. I served as Deputy Mayor from November 2024 to November 2025.
I am an independent. I am not a member of a political party, I do not accept campaign donations and I do not do preference deals. My focus is the local issues and services that matter to residents.
I want people to be proud of where they live. That means better access to essential services, renewing ageing infrastructure, and parks and playgrounds that stand up against any in neighbouring municipalities.
I am married with two young, sports-loving boys. In memory of our daughter Ivy, I am a passionate advocate for disability access, genuine inclusion, and practical support for people with disabilities and their carers.

I sit on the Knox Disability Advisory Committee, the Knox Community Awards Committee and the CEO Employment and Remuneration Committee, and I am Deputy Chair of Your Library.
I grew up in Doveton and Dandenong, went to public schools, and studied journalism and corporate affairs. I started out at 18 as a sports journalist on a community newspaper, and have since worked in media and communications for Victoria Police, governments and oppositions at state and federal level, and universities. I served as an independent councillor at the City of Stonnington from 2016 to 2020.
