This report runs from 6:50 to 7:57 of a 1 h 42 min meeting. Watch the full meeting on the council webcast.

Summary

In my first report as a councillor, I noted the phone calls and conversations since formally starting, many picking up issues raised during the campaign. Residents have raised potholes and the unsightly and unsafe medians on arterial roads across Knox, both the subject of notices of motion at this meeting, and have sought clarity on Council's intentions for Australia Day.

Thank you, Mayor. Through you, happy to report that there's been plenty of activity since commencing formally as a councillor. Plenty of phone calls and conversations, bumping into people who have had the chance to raise issues that were raised during the campaign. But now that I'm in this chair alongside my colleagues, we can start to capture those more formally.

So certainly matters of, and conversations relating to, potholes and the unsightly and unsafe medians on arterial roads across Knox, and those matters coming to Council tonight in the form of notices of motion. Lots of conversations with residents seeking clarity around Council's intentions for Australia Day, and I see we've got a question from the public coming on that matter.

So look, there's lots going on. It's a bit of settling in as well, and I look forward to really getting stuck into it over the next week or so as well. So I'll leave it there. Thank you.
