Summary
I reported on a busy few weeks of community sport in Rowville, including the Rowville Cricket Club presentation night and the Rowville Knights junior football jumper presentation, both of which I attended as a parent. I joined the Your Library board's planning day on the strategic direction of library services, and noted the Council budget weekend and Knox Fest. In the ward I am following up street sweeping and some solar-powered lights that are not working.

Thank you, Mayor. It's been a busy few weeks in and around Tirhatuan Ward.
The weekend just gone was certainly one where community sport was buzzing in Rowville, and I know right across the municipality. I attended the Friday night presentation night at the Rowville Cricket Club, not as the ward councillor but as a parent of a couple of kids in one of the teams there. I know there were several of these going on across our suburbs, and it was wonderful to see so many families and friends come together to celebrate the season, and kids get trophies and have a run around.
And then on Sunday, junior football started to rev up as well across Knox. I attended the Rowville Knights Junior Football Club jumper presentation, again as an interested parent. But wonderful, the great buzz. Incredible to see the young kids pull on their team jumper for the first time. And wishing all the junior footballers across Rowville and Scoresby and the wider Knox community all the best for the season ahead on the other side of Easter.
I attended last week a full-day planning day for the Your Library board, along with the Mayor, Councillor Kennett, in my capacity as Deputy Chair of the board of Your Library. We focused on the strategic direction of the organisation and discussed how we can strengthen and grow library services for our region, which we know are incredibly important for all our residents. A much-loved service of Council, our libraries.
I was here for the Council budget weekend. Thank you, Councillor Considine, for reminding me that we had Knox Fest in between our last meeting as well. That was an incredible event. Amazing turnout, and credit to our incredible events staff for putting on what they do, and all the wonderful community stallholders that come together to make that such a great day for our community.
Locally in the ward, there's been a few local issues. Similar to Councillor Baker, street sweeping's come up a little bit. I think autumn's firing that up, so I'm following up on a few inquiries regarding street sweeping. I've had some concerns regarding some solar-powered lights that aren't working at the moment. I've reported those through, and I'm tracking through each of those.
And just finally, with Easter approaching, I'd like to wish all our residents a peaceful, safe and reflective Easter period. Whether you're spending time with family and friends or going away, I hope it's a nice break for you all. Thank you.
